Mari's mother play a huge influence on Mari's life. Her affair and subsequent divorce with her husband as well as forcing Mari to choose between her parents haunts Mari to this day.

Masaya Seki[]
Seki is Mari's crush and is the reason she hired a love agent. At first, the relationship was going well as Seki put on a nerdy, bookish persona. However, when Masaya's reveals his true nature to save her from being asked intrusive questions by the school's YouTube club, she only sees him as someone violent and scary. As a result, she decides to stop pursuing a relationship with Seki and avoid any contact with him.
This would all change when Mari finds out that he has joined the manga club, and she goes to him and questions his motive out of curiosity but he surprises her with a confession instead. After contemplating a response for a night, she decides to turn him down. The following day, Seki walks back his confession, leaving Mari even more scared of him.
Later Seki would confront Mari about her relationship with Kengo after witnessing them together. Mari gives a flustered denial that there is anything between them, this encounter leaves Mari wondering why she responded the way she did, i.e., feeling embarrassed or having something to hide.
Following this, Mari starts being able to talk to Seki without Kon's help as she demonstrates while Seki is helping Pon with his weight loss regime.
Nobuko[]
Nobuko-chan is a friend of Mari's at Aoshiba High School.
Kengo Matsuda[]
Kengo is a fellow student at Aoshiba High School, but Mari is not aware of the fact that Kengo is a love agent himself. Mari later turns her attention to him after realizing Masaya's true nature. She would also help him with his diet when Kengo starts his weight loss regime.
Others[]
Kokon Aikawa[]
Kokon is Mari's love agent. When Mari decides to move on from Seki, Kokon considers ending their contract but decides to stay on as Mari decides to pursue Kengo as her next target. Kokon continues to support her pursue despite her disgust towards Kengo. Over time Mari and Kokon become friends over time as they start discussing things that are not strictly related to finding love.
