Building Rapport (ラポールの構築 Rapōru no Kōchiku) is the fourth chapter of the manga series Renai Daikou, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Nishizawa 5mm. It was released in issue #26, 2023 of Weekly Young Jump on May 25, 2023. [1]
Plot[]
With the help of Pon and Kon, Seki and Mari have been exchanging messages but neither have made a move yet. At the end of one exchange, they promise to be at the library the following day. While Mari panics, Pon asks Seki if he knows what he should do. Seki replies he would hit her up right away but Pon warns that doing so will scare here away and he should be building rapport instead. So for now, he just needs to be polite and gentle as well as look into the eye when talking.
The next day, Mari walks into the library with a plan. She engages in a conversation with her eyes narrowed in order to avoid looking at Seki's eyes. However she becomes nervous upon see his hands. At the same time Pon advises Seki to build a comfortable distance to give Mari a sense of security and trust but Seki misinterprets it as that he needs to close his distance. Kon, meanwhile notices Mari getting nervous and tells her to look at something else and she gazes at his Adam's apple.
Mari becomes too nervous and runs away, leaving Seki alone as both love agents realize the difficulty of their task at hand. Pon then reminds Seki about maintaining distance as Seki asks Pon how he knows what's going on without a camera. Turns out, Kengo is in the building directly across, observing everything.
