Serious Love (マジ恋 Maji Koi) is the twenty-fourth chapter of the manga series Renai Daikou, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Nishizawa 5mm. It was released in issue #5-6, 2024 of Weekly Young Jump on January 4, 2024. [1]
Plot[]
Nanto is having ice cream on his way home with Nobuko. Noticing that his ice cream is about to spill, Nobuko takes a bite and tells him that her father has been asking about his well-being lately. Nanto finds happiness in the peaceful times he has with Nobuko, and he thinks about how one day he will convey his feelings to her. His train of thought is interrupted when he spots Seki slightly further down the road.
When asked if he is okay, Seki explains that he is down and jealous after seeing his crush and another man together. Nobuko misinterprets that Seki is referring to her and Nanto and explains that they are neighbors. As Seki continues to describe his feelings without stating the identity of his crush, Nobuko begins to suspect that Seki is confessing to her. So she advises him to tell his crush his true feelings. Nanto is starting to feel awkward that he is not part of the conversation, but instead of walking away, he states that love is no trivial matter and offers his advice as well. Seki thanked them both, commenting that they were a perfect pair. Since he now feels a bit better, he sets off, leaving Nobuko completely confused, while Nanto notes that she has completely fallen for Seki.
The next day, Seki goes to Mari and asks about her and Kengo. A flustered Mari then explains that Kengo already has someone else he likes, and she was simply offering Kengo some advice. Seki accepts this explanation, apologizes, and walks away. Mari wonders out loud why she explained it that way. Meanwhile, Nanto asks Nobuko to walk with him, but she declines, saying that she does not want rumors to spread.
