Plot[]

At Mari's home, Kon and Mari discuss the day's events. Kon explains that Seki's action is akin to a confession and asks Mari how she will respond and if she will be dating him. Mari quickly shuts down the idea, as she cannot stand loud real-lifers like Seki. However, Kon assesses that this isn't Mari's true feelings, and Seki is not the delinquent that Mari thinks he is. Mari is not sure and cannot make up her mind about what to do, so she requests that Kon choose for her. Kokon is hesitant to do so but proposes that Mari keep Seki as a backup option. Mari explains that she is reluctant to do so, especially after Seki confesses in such a serious manner. Kokon respects her decision but points out her only alternative is to turn him down, which Mari accepts is her only option.

The following day, Mari asks Seki to meet her on the roof after school. Mari has made up her mind that she is turning down Seki, and she does not want to drag out such an important conversation. However, as soon as she arrives, Seki proposes going to the canteen and getting some shaved ice, as it is hot on the roof that day. Mari nearly agrees but makes up an excuse to continue the conversation there and then. So Seki asks why she wants to talk to him and if it has something to do with what he said the previous day. Before Mari can respond, Seki tells her not to treat it as a confession and that he is not asking her out or anything. This leaves Mari needing clarification, exactly as Kengo had hoped.

The previous night, Seki explained what he did that day, and Pon realized that Seki essentially confessed to Mari. This is bad, as Mari would almost definitely respond, and in the current state, Mari would almost definitely reject Seki. And if she rejects, that is practically "game over." If Seki makes any further attempts after rejection, his actions would be considered stalking. In order to remedy the situation, Seki would need to retract his confession.

And so Seki explains to Mari that his words were simply expressions of emotion and that it was not a confession, so there is no need for her to respond. Seeing as there is no need to respond, Mari leaves as Seki and Pon take a sigh of relief. However, unbeknownst to them, Mari now believes Seki is a playboy, and it has worsened her fear of real-lifers.
