Locus of Control (ローカス・オブ・コントロール Rōkasu Obu kontorōru) is the fifteenth chapter of the manga series Renai Daikou, written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Nishizawa 5mm. It was released in issue #44, 2023 of Weekly Young Jump on September 28, 2023.[1]
Plot[]
Kokon is having a flashback to a time when she was popular with people in school. A time when she was validated by the feeling of being longed for. She's remembering all this because that's the person Mari is trying to become. And in that instance, Mari is contacting her to check out something.
To Kokon's surprise, Mari is repeating her words in real time. It turns out that Mari has acquired a "real-time voice copy" (RVC). She has spent time building this piece of gear to minimize the delay in relaying what Kokon instructs her to say. Kokon questions Mari if she just wants to become a puppet, which Mari seems happy to accept.
Outside the 2nd manga club, Kengo is trying to keep an eye on Seki's progress when Mari comes up to him. Mari asks what he is doing, but upon noticing that the room is the second manga club, she gives him a funny look. For Kokon, she can't help but feel like actually flirting with Kengo herself, which absolutely disgusts her. As the conversation continues, Kokon asks Mari to poke his belly. Believing his tummy will be squishy, Mari/Kon compliments his squishy tummy, but his tummy is actually rather firm, so Mari improvises by rubbing his upper chest. While it wasn't uncomfortable for Kengo, he told Mari that her actions weren't really acceptable.
Once he leaves, Mari relays the information that Kengo's belly is actually rock solid, while Kengo notes that Mari can be quite bold when she is not around Seki. Kokon is ashamed of how things turned out, but she renews her resolve to help Mari conquer Kengo.
